You are buying a Cole Parmer 89768-43 Replacement Probe for the 4048 or 94460-70 Digital Thermometer. It is also the Control Company 8881 Replacement Probe. This is a 50 kOhm NTC (negative temperature coefficient) thermistor. Shown reading a lower resistance at a higher temperature.
LOT of 3 probes.
There is a warning on the card stating that if your thermometer reads -13 C (9 F) at ambient 25 C (77 F) that you need a different replacement probe.
