First off.. This listing is for repair service of your Makerbot Mightyboard, boards are not being offered for sale, only the service to repair your board! Please read the full listing, send me questions, and i will make sure all your questions are answered! I've had a few ask about the 10 days handling time, don't worry, it doesn't mean it will take that long to repair it! The handling time added is to give you time to ship the board to me and 1-2 days for me to repair it and get it shipped back, otherwise eBay complains about late shipments.Ok now that that's out of the way to avoid confusion...
I have been repairing Mightyboards for the last couple years, and i have many more years experience in board level repair, in a fairly high volume as a matter of fact, and many of my customers have been pushing me to advertise my service other then on the google groups and Facebook so everyone has a quicker reference then an email to get a hold of me, so here it is!
I repair the following boards..
Rev E - Replicator 1 Dual and Single (Makerbot Rev E like the green board in the picture, NOT the Brooklyn 5th Gen Rev E boards)
Rev G - Replicator 2
Rev H - Replicator 2X
Replicator 2/2X front control panels
I do not repair any of the newer generation Makerbots at this time, mainly due to Makerbot making them such a closed source product. Sorry, but at this time its just not feasible for me to get into repairing them.
I also repair some of the clone boards of these Mightyboards made by companies such as CTC, FlashForge, Wanhao, Geeetech, and various others. But be sure to contact me ahead of time to fully discuss what you have if its a clone board as there is differences in repair to these boards.
Rep 1 front control panels are generally not repairable due to them being bare die on board, aka blob on board, construction. However some faults with them can be repaired if the display portion of it is still functioning, such as a malfunctioning SD Card slot or a worn button pad, but the Rep 1 display is generally non repairable if it has a serious fault. If your looking to get a Rep 1 board repaired and your worried your display might have a fault as well you can ship both in for evaluation.
There was some crossover between the 2 and 2X series, but regardless of what model the printer is it will have either a Rev G or a Rev H board and i repair both! I also repair the front display control panels on the Rep 2 and 2X, SD slot not working, buttons not responding are the most common faults. Whether its a component failure on the front display carrier board, the most common fault, or a worn button pad i fix it all.
The cost you pay for this listing, , covers the return shipping of your boards back to you via Priority Mail Flat Rate. Your only paying for the return shipping up front. You ship me your boards, i look at them, diagnose whats wrong, give you a repair cost quote for approval, and once approved i do the repairs, testing, and invoice via PayPal for the full repair cost, minus the shipping you already paid for, once the invoice is paid i ship it back. Your under no obligation to complete the repair, you have already paid the return shipping, and if the repair is too extensive or not viable due to a badly damaged board you get your board back. I have been doing this for a couple years now, its a simple process for both of us. Its still cheaper then a new board, if you can get one.
I have what i have been told is very reasonable rates, and i strive for a quick turnaround time, most boards are repaired and shipped in 1-2 days, the only delays i generally encounter is work load and parts inventory. I try to keep most of the parts in stock for immediate repair, however in the case your board needs something that is not in stock i can acquire the parts in 2-3 days so you won't be waiting weeks! Each board is repaired, and fully tested, and again print tested for 6-8 hours before i call it fixed. This means when you get a board back you reinstall it and your printing again! The only hard part for you is removing the board and shipping it and reinstalling it after repair. If its a MightyBoard only repair you ship me the board with the StepBots installed, no other components need to be included. If you have a board and a control panel then ship both, again no other cables or hardware need be included, just the items for repair. I ask that MightyBoard's be shipped to me for repair with the StepBots included in case the fault lies with or included the StepBots, the last thing you want is to get back a working board and find out you have damaged StepBots, or to damage the board again installing damaged StepBots, so they must be handled together as a single unit.
A quick general rundown of my rates..
Labor per board, other parts are a per part charge based on the time and labor it takes to complete them.
MCU Replacement, replacing the AT1280 IC, flashing the latest firmware.
AT8U2 USB IC replacement, flashing firmware
Front control panel carrier board repair and testing
Front control panel button pad repair
ea StepBot repair, i do StepBots on an exchange, if yours are repairable i swap them out for repaired and tested units and you only pay each, if yours are not repairable i also sell replacement Stepbots for each with a board repair, sorry i don't have any available separately as i keep every one i get for board repair jobs. Most StepBots i get are repairable but there are cases where damage to the traces around the IC from their failure prevent repair.
Other common components that fail such as Digipots, FET's, RGB IC, Thermocouple IC, resistors, capacitors, 5v/3.3v regulators, switches, jacks, etc, are all charged based on replacement part cost and doesn't have an additional labor charge, so if your board needs another in parts its another , no additional labor over the flat rate per board cost. Front control panel and front button pad repair are done at a flat rate of and respectively, they do not have the labor charge in addition and those repairs are available separately from MightyBoard repairs. Also button pad repairs only can be done without an additional cost over the due to their small size and inexpensive shipping, again just ask questions!
I'm here for your MightyBoard repair needs!
Thank You!
